What is the Purpose of a Soap Dish?
There are 3 key reasons for getting a soap dish:
1) Of course a soap dish firstly needs to hold your soap and make it easily accessible. The beauty about a soap dish is that you can place it where you need it.
2) A drainage element is almost a must. You want your soap to drain and dry so it doesn’t end up soggy or create an environment for the growth of bacteria.
3) A soap dish should complement your bathroom and shower style. It’s an extremely affordable way to add those little touches which will truly make your shower space pop!
Where Should a Soap Holder be Placed in a Shower?
There is no exact ‘best place’ to where you should place a soap dish. However, we have a couple of recommendations that you should follow:
The soap holder can be placed behind the shower head at a height that prevents you from bending down or reaching too high to grab the soap. Placing the soap dish behind the water spray will prevent it from getting wet. Ideally, place the soap dish on the left or right side of the shower so it is not obstructed.
Apart from this, we’d recommend placing a soap holder in any area that is easy to reach while you use the shower but also not get wet. That way you’ll prevent your soap from breaking apart when it gets to soggy.
What Are Soap Holders?
Soap dish and soap holders are interchangeable terms. In Australia we tend to refer to them as soap dishes!
