What Size Shower Head do I Need?
Most of the shower heads we sell fall under the rain shower head category. That is, the water is meant to fully envelop your body to essentially give you a rainfall type of feel.
Shower heads should be 200mm – 300mm in diameter or width to achieve this effect, the same can be said for ceiling shower heads.
If you want a shower head for small bathrooms, our hand held shower heads are smaller but flexible enough to provide an excellent shower experience.
How High Should a Shower Head Be?
Shower heads are generally recommended to be installed 2000mm (2m) above the floor. This also factors in the shower arm. The standard bathroom ceiling height in Australia is around 2.3m, so many rain showers will fit under this guideline, especially the horizontal models.
This will be suitable for most people unless you are exceptionally tall!
However, if you are choosing to purchase a rain shower head with a vertical arm, you may have to consider if your bathroom ceiling is high enough to adequately support such a model.
What is a Good Shower Head Flow Rate?
Whilst the flow rate will depend on the model and size of the shower head, we’d recommend 8L – 9L / Min for the shower heads we sell. This is more then enough for 200mm sizes or larger and will provide enough pressure for a satisfying shower experience.
What is a 3 Star Shower Head?
Because of the increased flow rate required for shower heads, the maximum star rating for a 9L / min flow rate is 3 stars. Compared to older shower heads, where the flow rate exceeds 10L / min, this rating is quite efficient and will reduce your water bills. And thanks to the latest aerator technology, you can still experience a powerful showering experience whilst reducing your water usage.
