Shop both beautiful and functional kitchen taps at Sydney Home Centre.
The kitchen represents the social hub of your home and so will naturally get a lot of attention from visitors. The last thing you want is a fixture that goes against your kitchen décor.
Our kitchen tapware is designed to complement all kitchen designs. From traditional to contemporary, to eclectic and beach vibe.
They represent the very best brands and cater for all price ranges. We’ve hand selected our kitchen taps which means you don’t need to sacrifice on quality and functionality, regardless of your budget.
All our kitchen taps come with WELS ratings with various flow rates to suit the size of your kitchen and cleaning needs.
We primarily sell two types of kitchen taps:
- Kitchen mixer taps combine both hot and cold water into one outlet. They are very easy to use and come with additional functionality such as a 360-degree swivel and pull out extensible nozzles.
- We also sell 3-piece kitchen taps that come with a spout and two handles. They can be mounted on the wall behind your sink or on the sink / countertop itself.
Its worth considering your existing kitchen plumbing to determine which style would suit you. Replacing an existing kitchen mixer tap will be a lot easier than changing your existing plumbing to suit a 3-piece setup.
How Do I Choose The Right Kitchen Tapware?
Choosing the right kitchen tap can be a daunting process, but there are a couple of key factors you can consider in making the whole process a lot easier.
Functionality. First, determine the type of kitchen – and specifically sink – that you will be using. If you have for example, a double bowl sink, then a kitchen tap with a swivel function can be handy. It’ll allow you to easily manoeuvre between both bowls, making cleaning a lot easier.
A kitchen mixer with a pull-out feature will also serve a similar purpose and is especially useful if you like to wash closely to your dirty dishes or reach down in deep pots and pans.
Finish. The colour of your kitchen taps is a very important consideration when ensuring that your tap blends in well with the rest of your kitchen.
We have over a dozen colours to choose from so you’ll have plenty of options to pick a tap that will go best with your existing colour pallet.
Chrome represents a very popular choice because it can go well with most kitchen styles and works very well with a stainless-steel sink.
Gun metal or matte black are great trendy choices for a contemporary kitchen and will pair well with other darker or natural accents in your kitchen.
For a lighter look, brushed nickel or bronze finishes work fantastically with a lighter kitchen as well as natural elements.
Shape. After browsing our kitchen taps, you’ll see three distinct shapes.
For a low-profile tap, an L shape will do the trick and will allow other parts of your kitchen to stand out.
C and U-shaped taps feature a larger profile and can be used to really create a show-stopping effect.
Mounting. You can either mount your kitchen tap on the wall or on the bench top or sink. If it’s mounted on the wall, it’ll be easier to clean the benchtop space below.
A bench mounted tap will be closer to your sink and provide an easier clean whilst also providing a greater visual talking point.
Why Are Kitchen Mixer Taps So Expensive?
You’ll probably notice that our kitchen mixer taps start from around $100 and can exceed $1000.
There are various factors that go into this pricing.
Kitchen mixer taps are typically not replaced that often as other taps in your home. Therefore, manufacturing of such taps isn’t as high of a priority which does influence prices. Such taps also need to be extremely durable, and many are also multi-functional. The complexity of this engineering leads to a higher price tag.
We’ve selected our kitchen taps to cater for all budgets, with quality as the most important criteria. You can still enjoy an excellent tap for your kitchen without having to spend a lot!
How Long Should a Kitchen Tap Last?
Quality kitchen tapware should last up to 20 years.
Make sure to follow the manufacturers instructions when maintaining the tap. Using warm soapy water with a microfibre cloth when you clean your tap will ensure it’s brand-new look will continue for many years.
